Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders in Medicine and Surgery

Catholic Health’s Good Samaritan University Hospital is a leader in undergraduate and graduate medical education. Through our medical residency programs, we will help you take the next step in your medical career: to become a skilled leader in medicine and surgery.

As a resident, you will receive training from our board-certified physicians and faculty members who are experts in their fields. Your well-rounded experiences give you exposure to the most advanced technologies and a diverse patient population.

Our Medical Education Program

Good Samaritan University Hospital is a major clinical campus for the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM). As one of six hospitals in the Catholic Health system, we are able to support core and elective medical student rotations at all of these hospitals located across Long Island.

Located in West Islip, New York, Good Samaritan University Hospital opened its doors in 1959. Throughout the years, modernization and renovations have made what was once a small community hospital into the hospital that it is today. The hospital is part of Catholic Health, a highly awarded health care system on Long Island. In addition to the training you receive at Good Samaritan University Hospital, there’s a good chance you will have exposure to the expertise offered at other Catholic Health facilities.
