Catholic Health has appointed Lucille Hughes, DNP, MSN/ED, Assistant Vice President of Diabetes Education and Program Design.
Hughes will be responsible for developing comprehensive diabetes education policies, procedures and programs across Catholic Health, with an added focus on establishing diabetes centers of excellence.
“A certified diabetes care and education specialist with more than 37 years of experience in the nursing profession, Lucille has developed comprehensive diabetes care and education programs for pediatric and adult patients with diabetes,” said Catholic Health Vice President of Primary Care Anthony P. Ardito, MD. “We’re fortunate to have someone with her experience on our team and are excited for the future of diabetes care at Catholic Health.”
Holding progressive leadership positions throughout her career, Hughes most recently served as director of diabetes education and service line administrator for digestive health and endocrinology at Mount Sinai South Nassau. She is also an adjunct professor at Adelphi University and president-elect of The Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists.
