Catholic Health Diabetes Education Centers offer outpatient adult and pediatric services for people with Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, and prediabetes.
You will work one-on-one with a certified diabetes care and education specialist who will tailor a program that factors in your type of diabetes, other medical conditions and your goals for managing and avoiding complications from diabetes.
Your program may include how to:
- Monitor blood glucose and understand the results
- Control glucose levels
- Prevent and detect diabetes complications
- Incorporate exercise into a daily routine
- Create healthy meals for proper nutrition
- Take care of feet and skin
- Use an insulin pump
- Understand prescribed medication(s) and take the proper dosage
- Find mental health support
- Find diabetes community resources
Sessions may be in person or online. We also offer group classes.
