Bevon Campbell III spent many holidays with his Mercy Hospital family: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve/Day. After spending over four months (133 days) in Catholic Health’s Mercy Hospital Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Bevon will go home just in time for Valentine’s Day with his true loves: his mommy and daddy!
Bevon was born at the Rockville Centre, NY, hospital on September 21, 2021 at 27 weeks and weighed 2lbs 3oz. His mom Camille, of Jamaica, NY, suffered from preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome, a pregnancy complication that affects the blood and liver and treatment usually requires delivery of the baby.
Today, Bevon weighs a whopping 9lbs.
Special thanks to Bevon and Camille’s Mercy Hospital medical teams for taking care of mom and baby over the past couple of months. The teams include: Dr. Swarna Devarajan, director of neonatology; Dr. Jordana Hannam, attending neonatologist; Dr. Baraa Allaf, chair of maternal-fetal medicine; Dr. Godwin Onyeike, OBGYN; and the maternal child nurses and technicians.
