Yesterday was a TWOriffic TWOsday at Catholic Health’s Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre, NY. The hospital welcomed three babies (twins and a singleton) born on Tuesday, 2/22/22. The date is a palindrome, meaning it reads the same forward and backward, and will only happen once in a lifetime.
In the morning, Godwin Onyeike, DO, and the mother/baby team welcomed fraternal twins Renee and Nevaeh Warren, born at 9:20 am and 9:22 am (two minutes apart), respectively. They each weighed about 4lbs and were born at 33 weeks. The girls are the second set of twins for their mother, Doreen Fairweather. Currently, the girls are in Mercy’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as they were born early and doing great. Mom and dad are over the moon excited with their new bundles of joy and can’t wait to take them home to Far Rockaway to meet their other siblings, including their 19 year old twin sisters!
Then, at 2:22 pm, the hospital welcomed Logan Jowill Coreas Vasquez. Logan weighed 7lbs 14oz and was born at 39 weeks. He’s the first baby for Valley Stream couple, Wendy Campos-Vasquez and Mercedes Manuel Coreas. Mom and dad shared that being born on 2/22 meant for them that they were in the right place at the right time and can’t wait to share this incredible story with their baby boy once he’s older.
Jay Seraji, MD, who delivered Logan, isn’t a stranger to delivering babies who are born to be in the spotlight. On July 3, 2019, Dr. Seraji and Mercy’s maternal child team welcomed cousins Liberty and Hailey (their moms are sisters) on the same day. The girls were born on their grandfather’s 70th birthday.
Catholic Health also had twins born at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, NY and St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY.
