Britney Stenos, NP, lives by her guiding motto, “compassion in action.” As a critical care nurse practitioner in the cardiac care unit at Good Samaritan University Hospital, Britney recognizes what a patient is experiencing and responds with kindness and empathy to every patient, every encounter, every time.
In 2015, Britney began her career as a registered nurse in a medical surgical unit at Good Samaritan University Hospital. Looking to advance her professional growth and knowledge, she then transferred to a telemetry unit while pursuing her Master’s Degree. After achieving her Master’s, Britney joined the critical care team. “I enjoy being able to utilize my critical thinking skills to manage high acuity, critically ill patients with multiple complex medical conditions,” said Britney. “I am known for being an advocate for every patient that I care for. During times when patients are critically ill, they rely on you to be their voice and advocate for the necessary treatments that will lead them toward the path of recovery.”
The compassionate and personalized care Britney provides have awarded her recognition as a Samaritan of the Month at the hospital and she was recognized as a 2023 Suffolk County Healthcare Hero for Legislative District 14 covering Babylon.
Britney knew she wanted to make a difference in the lives of others and pursue a career in health care after her father received outstanding care in an emergency room for what could have been a life-threatening event. “I knew I wanted to be able to make a difference in the lives of others and a career in health care was for me.”
And, Britney has been making a difference ever since.
