Consider an opportunity to honor or memorialize your loved one with a timeless remembrance in our beautiful Fire Island Stroll Garden and Pavilion area. Opportunities include commemorating someone with a plaque or marker on one of our restful benches, on a beautiful tree shading our walking path, on the gentle waterfall or the center pavilion. Your donation will directly support the programs and services provided to those under our care.

  • A $100 donation will entitle you to a personalized 4”x8” brick. Each brick may be imprinted with up to eighteen characters per line (including spaces) and up to three lines per brick.
  • A $250 donation will entitle you to a personalized 8”x8” paver, which will become a permanent part of our pavilion area patio. This may be imprinted with up to eighteen characters per line (including spaces) and up to six lines per paver.
  • A $300 donation will entitle you to a personalized plaque on one of our beautiful shade trees. Each plaque may be imprinted with up to 20 characters per line (including spaces) and up to three lines per plaque.
  • A $500 donation will entitle you to a personalized plaque on one of our benches. Each plaque may be imprinted with up to 30 characters per line (including spaces) and up to two lines per brick.
  • A $1,000 donation will entitle you to a personalized plaque in our waterfall area. Each plaque may be imprinted with up to 20 characters per line (including spaces) and up to eight lines per plaque.
  • A $5,000 donation will entitle you to a personalized plaque in our center pavilion. Each plaque may be imprinted with up to 20 characters per line (including spaces) and up to eight lines per plaque.

A $500 donation will entitle you to a gold leaf engraved with your loved one’s name. It is placed in the lobby of Our Lady of Consolation & Nursing Rehabilitation on the wall of our gold leaf tree.

Family and friends of loved ones who passed away may contribute to Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitation in their memory. An acknowledgment will be sent to the family for their donation.

Volunteering at OLC

Our volunteers bring their spirit of willingness to the care provided and to the morale of our residents and staff. They each perform tasks and provide a special commitment to each of our residents in an effort to make life more comforting. 

Our spiritual care companion program comprises volunteers who are educated and trained to share experiences. They visit and support our residents. The volunteer program is continuously growing. We encourage family members, students and friends of the community to join us.

We also encourage pet therapy volunteers. Animals bring unconditional love and comfort to our patients and residents.
