Catholic Health announced today the opening of Catholic Health Ambulatory Care at Riverhead, a new facility bringing exceptional outpatient and ambulatory care services to the east end of Long Island. Located at 800 Old Country Road in Riverhead, the multispecialty practice occupies 15,600 square feet throughout two floors. The facility features primary care and specialty services where Catholic Health’s exceptional physicians can see patients in a safe, comfortable and convenient environment outside the hospital setting.
The new Riverhead facility is the most recent of Catholic Health’s growing network of multispecialty care centers, offering services for primary care with same-day availability, and specialty care including neurosurgery and spine, pediatric orthopedics and spine, pain management, and urology. Catholic Health received $8 million in funding through a New York State Department of Health transformation grant, in support of the creation of this new, contemporary ambulatory center.
“Catholic Health is committed to offering state-of-the-art multi-specialty services, and we are proud to now bring those services to Riverhead and its surrounding communities,” said Catholic Health President & CEO Patrick O’Shaughnessy, DO, MBA. “This Riverhead facility is designed for outpatient care across several specialties, which is important because it is projected that forty-percent of health care will be delivered in the outpatient ambulatory care setting in the coming years.”
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The ribbon cutting ceremony, which took place today, featured members of Catholic Health leadership, elected officials and community leaders and Richmond Realty Corp., developer of the facility.
“The completion of this Riverhead location further proves Catholic Health’s dedication to making health care accessible to communities across Long Island,” said Riverhead Town Supervisor Tim Hubbard. “They are a system that is addressing an unmet need, and I commend them for their continued efforts. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Catholic Health.”
“The opening of the Catholic Health Ambulatory Care Center in Riverhead provides our residents on the East End with a new and viable alternative to exceptional outpatient and ambulatory care services. I applaud Catholic Health on this notable achievement and look forward to working with our region’s healthcare providers to ensure our residents have access to safe, convenient and accessible care,” said Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine, who also spoke at the ribbon cutting event.
