Catholic Health has been awarded Press Ganey’s 2025 HRO Foundation Award, in recognition of its steadfast commitment to High-Reliability Organization (HRO) principles, with patient safety at the center of its operations. Press Ganey, a leading expert in health care performance improvement, partners with more than 41,000 health care organizations across the U.S. to improve safety, quality and patient experience.

“We are honored to receive this distinguished award from Press Ganey, as patient safety and operational reliability have always been at the core of our mission,” said Catholic Health President and CEO Patrick O’Shaughnessy, DO, MBA. “Achieving this success requires unwavering commitment, continuous training and fostering a culture of vigilance. These results reflect our ongoing focus on safety and operational excellence.”

Inspired by high-reliability industries such as aviation and nuclear power, where precision is critical, Catholic Health has adopted numerous HRO principles to significantly improve patient safety.

“At Catholic Health, safety and quality are fundamental priorities in every aspect of our work,” said Catholic Health Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Jason Golbin, DO. “This recognition underscores the success of our safety program, where high reliability safety principles create a unified culture of responsibility and excellence across our system.”
