    Specialized Care at St. Charles Hospital

    St. Charles Hospital (Port Jefferson, NY) is the only Long Island hospital accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient medical rehabilitation for adults and children.

    The only muscular dystrophy care center on Long Island dedicated to caring for both adults and children living with muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular disorders. Our board-certified neuromuscular physicians work closely with a team of specialists to provide optimal care in related areas such as behavioral health, cardiology, neurology, orthopedics and pulmonology.

    Onsite occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/swallowing therapy, radiology, laboratory testing, nutrition services and social services make the center a single location where a wide range of needs are met.

    The center is located in Port Jefferson, NY, at the St. Charles Hospital Specialty Care Center.

    The center offers specialized care for adults diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. Treatment plans include customized physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech/swallowing therapy to help patients overcome physical and verbal challenges that interfere with everyday tasks.
